I plan on riding there at 7:30 PM after the trail work on Theo-Wirth. If your interested we could meet at the Hwy 55 trail entrance.

Tonight, I am hoping to get out and help move some dirt at Theo and then do a night ride. If I can pull it off, I will head for the trail entrance at Hwy 55 and Theo Wirth Parkway (NW corner) to meet up at 7:30 with whoever is there.

FYI - Night group rides at Theo Wirth:
I ran into a group from Kenwood Cycles on Monday night and they are doing weekly night rides starting at Kenwood at 5:00 or 6:00. I also heard Erik's of St. Louis Park is doing night rides on Sundays at 5:30 starting at the Northwest Athletic Club parking lot on Cedar Lk. Rd just west of Hwy 100.

Theo is a blast at night!

Hwy 55 is the 4 lane divided highway south of the golf course and trails. Yes, it is sometimes a good idea to wait for the green light to cross!:scream:

My apologies to anyone who waited around for me at 55 and Wirth Pkwy for a night ride tonight. Family duties took precedence once I got home. How was it? Next time!

I rode it at about 7:45 PM last night,Wed. and the trails were in great shape and the weather was awesome. It was me and the raccoons running the trails. This is the first time I have ridden it in 2 months and these trails are really fast, fun and very flowing. I am excited to see it completed.

I think this may switch to 6:00 this week. I thought that is what I heard on Monday at least.

OK. Where was everybody? It was just me and the raccoons and some medium sized unidentifiable creature. Kinda gives you the creeps, doesn't it?
Rode the new drop in the last section 4-5 times. I don't know if anyone else has been there. It's automatic and natural, but still fun. Just ride straight off. The landing area will probably get torn up a little. You tend to hit the brakes a little after you land. Rocks in the landing pad? Speaking of which; Some moron is out dumbing-down Wirth already. Every time I ride through, the rocks that the crew placed and the U of M kids lugged over, are thrown off the trail and the hole refilled. If you are such a weenie that you can't cope with as few fun sections and trail character, take up golf. We don't need your trail building techniques. A lot of good people are trying to build a fun and somewhat challenging facility, and a vast majority of the riders have given the rock gardens and trail rocks high marks. I haven't seen one post to the negative. So please leave the trail as built.

That sucks, maybe it's time to go on Pulaski Patrol.

Beware trail trashers, you never know if there's a big guy wielding a sharp trail tool lurking in the underbrush. :fool:

Hmmmmm...???
Tom, Pat, Mara (small but effective) and I'll take the night shift. I'm better up alongside the head with a U lock, though.

I am thinking about setting booby traps out there. Ones for rocks that are removed and the other traps for people that open trails that have been closed!!!!

"for people that open trails that have been closed!!!!"

Probably better to wait till the end of the season and then close trail. The bad crowd won't be back until late April, early May at the earliest. Nice job on the jump, Erik. You can just launch off that thing. The weenies will probably find some fault in that, too.

Don't thank me for the jump. I know we all had visions of how the concrete could be used, it should be known that Tom Anderson, John Schmid and Gary Hakala. These are the guys who put there muscles into moving the curbs around. And for the rest of you that haven't come out to trail work, you could be building cool things like this if you came out.

I DID GO BUT I DIDN'T SAW NOBODY AND I ENDED UP RIDING THE OTHER SIDE OF HWY 55 AND I SAW SOME COUPLE TAKING A POTTY BREAK. I CAUGHT THEM EMPTY HANDED AND I SCREEMED HEY CONO! (means hey damnit in spanish) man that guy pulled up his pants so fast i think cleaning time was left for when he got home.. but otherwise i was there...

Very funny! Yeah, you see some strange things out in that neck of the woods....

For example, all of those shovel handle protectors the trail crews leave behind. What's up with that? ;)

But only if they're fresh. It doesn't take too long for them to get hard and crusty ...
