:) Elsewhare on this forum you can read bios of prospective MORC Board members and prospective new members, but here's a message of a different sort.

I've decided to step down from the MORC Board as of the the annual meeting this fall, and I thought a word or two of explanation is in order. This move is not based on any dissatisfation I have with anything that MORC is doing or not doing, nor any difference of opinion or conflict, either current or past, with any MORC Board members, On the contrary, it's based on my belief that the MORC Board is doing an excellent job, and that MORC is doing very well, with great prospects for the future. These prospects will be enhanced by me stepping aside for a younger, more energetic person who is more attuned to the complete spectrum of off-road cycling activity in Minnesota, and more energetic on organization building.

My focus and interest has been on trail building and maintenance, and helping MORC get established as a viable mountain bike organization. The latter item was my reason for joining the MORC board at the time of our "revival" in 1988, and I'm proud of the role I've played in helping recruit and support a strong MORC board, and my role in representing MORC in contacts with various land mangers. But now it's time to step aside for someone who has more energy and more good ideas to take MORC to higher levels.

This does not mean that I'm burned out or dropping out. I'll still be riding, working on trail projects, doing self-directed trail maintenance on the Minnesota River Trail and hopefully other new trails, and can continue, if asked, to do simple administrative tasks like reminder letters to expiring members, tool inventory, and volunteer hours tracking.

Sincerely,

Don Youngdahl
