A Trail Work Day is scheduled for Battle Creek on Saturday, September 25th, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. We will meet in the Community Center parking lot off Winthrop Ave. and deploy work teams to a couple "hot spots" in the park. Dress in sturdy clothes and bring gloves, as we'll be working with rocks!

This session will focus on using rock to armor the switchback on the big climb along Pt. Douglas Road, and one or two other spots, if time permits.

A group ride is scheduled for 1:30pm, following the trail work.

Thanks!

The trail work we did last saturday went good. We ran out of rocks.Short on help. There was 3 of us but we did manage to get all the rocks in on the climb by point douglas road. Erosion was very bad at the half way point . Right on the tight turn. IT looks good ,give it a ride. If you or anyone has more rocks let Steve know because there are still a couple of spots that need some work.

The county is also doing work out there. But I don't think trails will be damaged.

Had a chance (finally) to get back out to BC and check out the switchback repairs. Looks really nice and rides well.

Rode mostly on the new ski trail today just to check out what the county has been working on, and I did find a pile of busted up concrete chunks on the side of the trail, maybe 1/4 mile or so as the crow flies from the switchback. don't know if the county has something in mind for these or not, might be worth checking out.
