The western suburbs, to be precise.
I'm looking for a 30-50 mile road ride that I can do from my front door in south Minneapolis out toward the western suburbs. I'd like to avoid the dirt portions of the commuter trails, and I don't mind riding in traffic.
Any suggested routes?

...in SLP. Basically takes you out through Hopkins/Mtka/Wayzata/Long Lake/Orono/Minnetrista and back. Big "lollipop" route.
PM if you're interested. All road, no gravel or crushed limestone. Moderate traffic until West of 494 and then mostly secondary country roads.
Nice ride.

You should also check out the Minnesota Bike Atlas published by the Twin Cities Bike Club.
There's lots of good riding out west and also northwest and southwest, the atlas is a good starting place.
From Fort Snelling I ride the following:
Post Road, 34th street, E Old Shakopee, Lyndale South, W 106th, Xerxes Ave S, W 110th, Normandale Blvd, Auto Club Road, Bloomington Ferry Bridge path, Hwy 101.
Once you hit Hwy 101 you have 16 to 18 miles and there was another link that gave options from here. (Prior Lake, Chaska, etc.)
