I am happy to announce that the long planned re-route work on the east side of the River Bottoms trail has been approved by the city of Bloomington, as have plans for the necessary bridges.
To start things off we are going to plan a trail clearing work session this Sunday, September 19 at Noon - meet at Mound Springs Park - proceed east on 102nd Street from Portland 'till it ends at a gate. Park there and walkdown the road to the worksite (gate may be open - if so you can drive down the hill and then park)
This will be a chainsaw, downfall clearing work session to prepare for the Trail Source dirt moving crew/machines. If you have suitable equipment please bring it (Chainsaws, handsaws, loppers for big stuff, strong backs).
If possible please get back to myself and Don Youngdahl (Sunday work crew leader) dmy@visi.com (dmy@visi.com) 651 633 2029 home, 651 276 8622 mobile with your availability or if a slightly different time would be better for you. If you post a reply note here we both will get it as well.
Regards,
Steve Eberly

PS, yes we will be continuing with regular work sessions through the fall to complete these re-routes.
