It has been a while since I put on my moderator hat... so I thought I better take care of some business.
First, we in the MORC forums want people to help us by using your full name in your registration. When you post, it is nice to see full names rather than just "Joe" or even "Joe S" - if you have registered and aren't using your full names, could you please fix that (you can do it by clicking on User CP) There are very few that don't have full last names either becasue they are so long or because they asked for some privacy for some reason or another - but otherwise it really helps us all become a community to know names. It also will help me when I go in and register MORC members - otherwise I have no way to match you up correctly.
Also, although we try be as open to all posts as possible I wanted to remind everyone that we do moderate discussions. I have probably only deleted all of 10 posts total in the 2 years and thousands of posts that have gone by, but from time to time I do it. Usually it is if someone is registering to post advertisements or their post is getting the thread too far off topic. From time to time I will remove personal attacks and also if someone has registered simply to "stir up" debate in an inappropriate way. I invite discussion, even heated debate, but if someone is making personal attacks on an individual or on MORC I will not hesitate to delete or even ban. It has only happened a few times..
Also, there is a place for non mountain biking discussions so if you are inclined to discuss anything else, that is the place. We are much more open to have people talk there rather than openly in other areas. I think some people come in and read and assume every little word of phrase written is MORC's vision and gospel. This helps keep those types of discussions in the forums but in their place. (you can join this forum in the User CP)
