So I went riding at Salem today for the first time after hearing so much about it. Im really impressed with how well built the trail is, kudos to the IMBA and those who worked on it. It's really fast, and I like riding out in those fields, very different from a lot of local trails. I was just wondering if there is future plans for more trail, like the advanced loops out at leb. I also noticed a spur of trail near the entrance that just ended after about 50 feet or so, anything in the future for that? Sorry if everyone has already asked these questions, I have just been out of the loop. Great work guys for those of you who put the trail together.

The trail will be extended into the North part of the park as well. Right now the construction has been put on hold until October 1. We received a TEA-21 grant to construct the reaminder of this trail but the grant restricts payment to work that begins after October 1. The North section should double the length of constructed trail in this park.

Thank you for the praise.
Yes, there will be more taking place out a Salem hills later this year. We plan on making a complete loop system of about 5 or so miles. The loop will come together in a couple of places to allow for shorter loops.
This trail was designed as a beginner/ intermediate trail and will have almost no man made obstacles. We wanted this trail to help take pressure off of the River Bottoms.
Keep an eye on the forums for information on upcoming trailwork and such.
