Anyone know who is selling there, they are from Burnsville?

Any comments on these lights, I have read through mtbr.com and everyone seems to be raving about them. Oh and right now Price Point has them for $270, seems like a good deal.

You can't go wrong with the Storm... I liked mine so much I bought 2, one for the helmet and one for the bars. Come this fall you'll be glad you bought one.

I use the Storm and like it. They have newer models out now, so you can pick it up cheaper once in awhile. $270 is a pretty good price for an HID light. Some people like riding with just a headlamp, but I had trouble riding with the headlamp without a handlebar lamp. Threw off my perception a bit for some reason. I could ride with a handlebar lamp and no headlamp just fine though. Maybe I'm weird. Get a Storm and try to find a deal on a handlebar mounted one and you'll be set to go! You're going to love night riding. I'd get lights before a road bike any day!

I'd be wary of buying an HID lamp on-line. It might have been in a crash, the batteries might be shot or any of a number of things might be wrong. I'd opt to buy a new one for $270. I bought a new Storm about a year and a half ago for $369, so the current price for a new one is fantasitc. I looked at one on-line when I bought, but a few things raised warnings. The guy had never run it for more than 1 1/2 hours, so didn't know the true burn time. He said it had been in a few endos, so that worried me. Take the plunge and buy new. You'll know exactly what you're getting, plus a warranty if something goes wrong.

Any thoughts on lighting systems that don't cost an arm and a leg?

I've got two Nite Rider TrailRat 10watt lights. They are great at about $100.00. Not extreemly cheap, but if you want to go night riding in the woods, these are pretty much entry level. If you can afford only one, put it on your helmet.

...Or, If you follow John with his H.I.Ds, you don't need any lights!:D

I saw that on Price Point. Said the life is only just over 2 hours. I already have a Specialized Rechargable light that I can put on my handlebars, so was thinking of getting a helment light in addition. But I was a little concerned about the battery life. I go on the Monday rides out of Kenwood and those last somewhere around 2 hours.

If you are concerned about battery run time, take your light and current battery pack to Batteries Plus. They should be able to build a pack that should give you longer run time.

I saw that there is one called the head trip that mounts on a helment and has like 6 hours of battery life. I may end up gong with something like that.

The order went out last night to PricePoint. I was going to wait till after this weekend to see who is using what out at Afton but after talking to enough people I decided to go for it, plus there was a couple of other really cool things on clearance that I decided to go for.

Thanks for the help.

Ended up ordering it UPS Red, should be here sometime this morning. Going to try to get it all charged up so I can test it out tonight out at Afton, or compare it to what the racers are using.
