What's up everyone? I just moved to the city (st. paul) and I was wonding if there is any type of freeride/downhill action going on within biking distance of downtown st. paul. someone told me there was plenty of stuff to hurt myself on on the other side of the high bridge. I ventured over there today only to find paths leading to residential areas. I do not know who owns the property but if possible i would be willing to work over there to make a down hill trail. I am just fiending for some big drops, hucks and dirt jumps, and i don't have a car. i have recently found the monkey village in edina and was very pleased, but i hope there is more fun stuff than that around here. if anyone has or has permission to build on property, I would be willing to work at least two days out of the week to build trails hucks and dirt jumps. please... i know you guys, and girls, are out there.

also, if any of you have done the tuesday night downhill race a buck, give me details.

finaly, hit me up for any urbans 651-225-8922

thanks

OK... I googled it and found pics.

I want to practice my jumping skills, but that looks a bit beyond me.

JSkater - they aren't as secret as you may think.

Just like Edina/West Bloomington kids - trying to make everything into a private club.

hey please don't give people directoins to monkey, it's not that kind of place. If you know someone thats cool, but you shouldn't be finding out where it is off of here.

That's not the case, these are the kinds of jumps you shouldn't be riding unless you have extremely advanced skills - and you're not going to build your skill riding there, in fact it would be very dangerous to try to build skills there.

It's not a locals club per se, the riders who build and maintain these jumps are from all over the metro.

Keeping them somewhat secret is the best way to make sure that the don't get overrun and end up getting torn down.

Respect.

James, where are you from? Doesn't really matter, just curious. Also, you riding a 20 or 26 inch bike?

As far as the dirt jumps go.... I try to keep my ears open to hear of some other than monkey that are decent, but the scouting hasn't turned anything up. I'd also be real interested in some quality dirt jumps.

If your looking for something a little smaller, but fun to dink around on, there are some jumps on by old hwy 88 and county road D in st. anthony just north of minneapolis. I could tell you where they are if you'd like. They're usually local punk gromits running around the place, but the big sets are usually wide open with nobody riding them.

To the secret monkey issue.... if the trail doesn't stay on the DL, it'll either get torn down or recked. If it was real popular, it wouldn't be there. Respect is definetly the word of choice.

hey man, the same can be said about you not knowing your way around st paul. Dont push away the riders who can show you where some goot spots are. Elitists only squash the sport.
