So, Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak postponed the initial date of Aug. 4 for trail work at Theo Wirth because that was the same day as the park board meeting. He wanted to drag a park board member or two out to Theo so he wouldn't be the only public official getting his hands dirty with MORC and MOCA.

The new date for trail work with the mayor is Aug. 25! It would be great if we could get a nice crowd out there to show the mayor and the park board just how committed we are to the cause. And, as an added bonus, there very well could be TV cameras there just like on Aug. 4 when WCCO did a little bit on us. They didn't even care that the mayor wasn't available, they just wanted pictures of us doing trail work!

Mark your calendars. If you haven't been to Theo for trail work, then a week from today should be the day! (of course, you should be out there every Wednesday ... then again, who am I to preach about that? )

More importantly...

If you ride the trails at Wirth, but like me, am too busy (or lazy) to help with trail work, you should fill this out and send it in!!! Help make Mpls trails legal!

I found it on this MPRB site:

Hurry!!!! They must be sent in by AUGUST 30TH 2004!!!

DO IT!!

PLEASE FILL OUT THOSE SURVEYS AND SEND THEM IN!!!!!

If you haven't done this already please do. This is pretty important to the Park Board to see how the trails are impacting the park.

Hey there. I am new to the North Minneapolis area and am very interested in helping out with trail maintence at Theo Wirth (whether or not the mayor is there). Could somebody please tell me where the meeting place for trail maintence work is? Also I am a little confused as to where these trails are so any directions y'all could provide would be great. Look forward to seeing you on Wednesday.:scream:

In general, the trails are located just north of Hwy 55 and West of Theodore Wirth Parkway.

We move around a certain amount from week to week, the best thing to do is to keep an eye on mocatrails.org, I try to keep up-to-date location and parking info there on a weekly basis.

Not yet unfortunately, a couple of us are passing the task back and forth, but we've both been too busy to actually get it done.

Not exactly what I meant by "online form", but that will have to do for now.

I'm planning on coming to the trail maintence thingy tomorrow. I will plan on being at the Par 3 parking lot at 5. Are there any tools I should bring?
