Some idiots from Mpls went down to RW for the day yesterday. Good stuff. Surprised I'd never found my way down there before. Got ourselves lost and had to double back on double track a few times but managed to ride most, if not all, of this trail system.

Overall, it flows well and has some awesome DH ravine sections that weave back and forth...loved those. Some real beeyatch climbs (or hikes for my phat SS'ing arse).

Came across the new teeter last and decided to pass...entry angle is pretty steep...at least too steep for my then bonking self to attempt with any semblance of bike control. Didn't attempt the ravine ladder ride either...figured I was a long ways away from my favorite hospital in SLP.

Stopped at King's Bar & Grill in Miesville for a brief respite post ride and was overserved (thankfully). The Intense burger is the only way to go...with cheese curd appys, natch.

Highly recommend and can't wait to get back down there this fall when the leaves change and start falling.

I'm sure you cats had a hoot. Memorial is a great trail. Can't believe I don't make it down there more often. It's really not that far outta the twin spitties.

Glad you guys had fun on Sunday. I may have talked to you in the parking lot as you were getting ready to start the ride. Surley Karate Monkey w/disc brakes?

Anyway, thanks for coming down to ride our trails. The City of Red Wing was gracious enough to give (that's right: Give) us the lumber for the teeter and the ramp/bridge that were added a couple of weeks ago. We may have to do a little touching up on both obstacles so please let us know any feedback! I agree that the teeter's a bit on the steep side. It is fun though.

Just a note that we'll be having our next trail work day the first Sat. of Sept. Check out our web site at www.muddyriverrocknroll.com (http://www.muddyriverrocknroll.com) later this week for updates on what we'll be focusing on!

...those trails, save maybe a couple beeyatch climbs, were superb for SS'ing. The teeter is fine, I wasn't. It could have a shallower angle or more of a run up to gather momentum easier...then again, it's an obstacle, right? As for that elevated stunt in the ravine, well, I'm just a wimp.

Great job all around. The only thing that sucked was getting layed open by some nasty buckthorn (?) on one less-traveled section on the far end of the park. That shiite is nasty.

Cool, cool trail,

Sean
