Just got a call from Guy Still at the local CBS station. He wants to get a camera out at Theo tonight to shoot footage of us working on the trails!
I told him the mayor cancelled and he'll be coming out a different night, but he didn't care: he just wanted footage of us doing what we do best!
So, extra incentive for those interested in trail work tonight at Theo :).

I just seen us! We wuz on CCO!
The camera guy came out and filmed the gang tonight and it was a "bumper" for the weather report. Paul Douglas actually said something about the footage, mentioned that "members of Minneapolis and Minnesota Off Road Cycling organiztions (or Advocates ... can't remember exactly what he said)" were out clearing brush and building a 5 mile trail in Theo Wirth park. He even said that we are out every Wednesday.
MORC and MOCA now have gotten TV exposure!

Too funny!
It was great to finally get out and work with the Wirth crew last night. I'm sure I'll be making a few more. Keep up the great work!

Pat,
Can you dump that clip and encode it for posting on the website?

Unfortunately I haven't gotten around to figuring out how to do that (hangs geek head).
Any tips?

Not Really,

That has been my impression too and with a certain amount of risk. That looks like a pretty decent link though, I will probably start to dig into it to see how far I get. It would be a nice capability to have since DirecTivo only has 35 hours of capacity (without an aftermarket upgrade of course).

If TIVO has an analog out i.e. RCA or S-video output, I could loan you my DVcam to act as a converter if your computer has Firewire in and the software to capture and edit it.
Or you could just dump it to vie one fo the above to the DVtape in my cam and I could do the editing.

1) Cue video segment from Tivo you want to copy
2) Set up digital video camera in front of TV screen and hit "record"
3) Hit "play" on Tivo.

And then watch the big bar run through the screen as the frame rate screws up everything.
I thought someone had mentioned in another post here on MORC about capturing something about George Bush and John kerry mountain biking that they had ripped from TIVo? I could be dreaming.

That was me, but I ripped it from a ReplayTV, If I woulda known it was gonna be on I would have recorded it, but I didn't:( Check out www.tivocommunity.com might be some info there about ripping from a tivo. I know Tivo encrypts the video file so its not as simple as with a replaytv(not sure if its even possible). If ya get it ripped and need hosting let me know I can use my BW.

I might take you up on this, I won't get to it until next week though.
Come on guys what kind of pornographic image are you trying to give MORC. First there was the X trail followed by the XX trail and now this... jk

Just got an email back from WCCO. They are going to send me a video copy of what aired last night. I sent an email over there and the guy emailed me back 15 minutes later. Just asked what my address was and I should see it in a couple of weeks.

Oh yeah I don't have any video editting equipment but I figured someone out there could take it from tape to digital media.

Hey guys,
If any of you get the video just send it over, digital video on the web is what I do - so I can rip it to the web formats, add the plugin info and post up a couple different versions off Mocatrails.org servers.

The tape is here!!!! Damn those guys at WCCO are quick. I got it exactly one week after they were out there. I will be bringing it to trail work tonight. I can't veiw since I don't have a vcr (such a slave to technology) only a DVD player.

I won't be there tonight, but you can hand it off to Pete. I'll have to see if I still have my VCR to computer plugs.
Thanks,
