im new to the boards and just getting back into the mountain bike thing. been out for a couple years. my neighbor told me about theo wirth so my 12 yr old son and i drug our dusty bike out from the basement6 and decided to take a ride saturday morning. it was a great ride aside from the guy getting a bj by a tree. luckily my son just thought he was taking a pee!:crazy2: anyway, i couldnt figure out where the best place to park was. i ended up parking at the park off of 55 and hitting the trail behing room and board. isnt there a better way in???---scott

I think as long as you don't park in the room and board lot that is OK. Otherwise, I think parking at the Par 3 course on Theodore Wirth is OK. From there just bike towards 55, go down the dirt road with the gate and you will be in the trail system. You can also park in the neighborhoods by Golden Valley Road and Theo Wirth. I think there may also be public parking at the Courage Center off of Golden Valley Road that is OK. In that case you can just bike in (you will see a paved path that leads directly into the trails)
I live close to there so I usually just bike in.

I usually park by the big old ski chalet in the s-curve about a block north of the small lot. They used to have a sign in the small lot that said golfer parking only. I think if there are too many cars there it could cause some issues in the future. I've only driven there a few times. I used to live in Robbinsdale so I just got on my bike at home. Now I live by Lake of the Isle so I just get on my bike and go from home.

If you are working on the trail, we have permission to park at the hospital lot at the north side of Theo Wirth. Take Golden Valley Road west from Theo Wirth Parkway, and turn left at the light. Go past Courage Center and the neighborhood gatehouse, veer left and go all the way to the hospital lot and park on the far side.
