Wondering if anyone knows any good roads to ride in the Edina/St Louis Park/ Hopkins/Minnetonka area? I would like something with minimal traffic if possible. Went out "exploring" today and ended up in a couple bad spots.:embarass: Thanks again in advance.

If your willing to go a little further west. The Medina area is great, most roads have minimal traffic and wide shoulders. I go out towards Baker Park, Lake Independence and then around Lake Minnetonka to end back in Wayzata.

Get on a ride with the Twin Cities Bicycling Club,http://www.mtn.org/tcbc/schd.official.current.html They take good routes and I end up using these routes to do some training rides. Every Wed they have a ride that leaves from the church north of the new Best Buy campus and heads west into Minnetonka or close by. TCBC is not a race club and the median age is 45-50. The people are extremely nice who ride and lead these rides so jump in and have some fun.
I live in S. Mpls so I used to go to the west side but lately have been riding the Minnehaha Parkway to Ford Bridge then onto the high bridge for some climbing in St Paul.
14 WED SOUTHERN COMFORT. B/C 20-30 mi. Leaving at 6 PM from Woodlake Lutheran Church, 76th and Oliver in Richfield. Meander through the SW Metro during a pleasant evening of leisurely paced pedaling on this ever-evolving ride. ...and I've been sorting out a good ride from my house in SLP. Basically takes you west on Mtka Blvd all the way out to 19N to 15E back through DT Wayzata to McGinty (SE) to Mtka Blvd E.
Gotta get a GPS from someone to map this. Maybe 32-35 miles... I bought the roadie to get in bike workouts from home so I'm not really interested in putting it on my car to go ride somewhere else. May consider for really scenic rides on the North Shore or SE MN Bluff country.

...of Mtka Blvd. I see a lot of riders on that road. I'm not too far south of there and the LRT trail runs up that way from where i'm at. i'll have to hit that area up here pretty soon. who knows though, my clipless shoes should be here tomorrow so i don't know how confident i'll be on the roads...first time with clipless:crazy2: should be interesting.
