I rode Terrace Oaks for the first time of the season. I like the new rock garden and found the switchback into the climb on the advanced loop to be in better shape than what I recall from last year. It looks like there is a long V shaped rock that you could ride on that leads to a little drop off. I don't know if that was put there by the crew or soomeone else did. Looks some of the ruts are also gone from the downhill portion on the way out.

I guess it still a little bit puzzling to me that everyone lists this as an easy trail, I think it is more difficult than the Intermediate loop at Lebanon. The advanced portion definitely has some tricky terrain requiring skill not to slide on.

Does anybody know of any future trail work that is going to be done at Terrace this summer?

I also agree with you. The advanced run with the switch backs toward the end are a good challenge!!!!

I've been pretty lazy this year as far as riding goes, but I biked up to terrace this past Saturday, and did a loop. I really like the new entrance to it, but it seems to me that some of the other parts of the trail have become more rutted than others. Maybe that's just me, since I'm not used to it this year yet. :( Either way, that's one of my favorite trails.

MORC has recieved permission to do 11 re-routes on this trail. 2 have already been completed and you have ridden on them. I have flagged 4 others that we will try to get completed this year. Should address some of the ruts etc. Will not get into Hebel hollow this year though. all 11 areas should be addressed by the end of 2005.

TWWell, I think Terrace used to be more fun than it is now. I liked the steep uphill into the woods but completely understand the reason for the re routes. And the mini rock garden is OK.

Hebel Hollow is the most fun part of the trail left, so I hope that can be maintained. I especially enjoy the two switchbacks, but maybe they need to be made more windy and less straight up and down the hill. And PLEASE don't take away the only significant obstacle in the park (the log crossing in Hebel Hollow).

My suggestion would be to do something with the big wide double track downhill/uphill on the "back side" of the trail. It is not only boring but getting very sandy/rutty etc.

I was not a believer in Lebanon until this year, now I don't go to Terrace much anymore. And Salem Hills is not too far away either and that is a fun little course as well.

The sandy climb that you mentioned has been flagged for a change. It is still a steep climb but we do it over a much longer distance. I think it will be a middle ring climb just like it is now but it will be about 3 times as long and will not erode.

As far as the log pile--we have a reputation for putting too many log piles on the trail so you can count on that continuing at Terrace Oaks. I would also like to find some significant rocks to utilize in Hebel.

I couldn't agree more about Terrace. It's always more difficult than I remember until I do it for the first time of the year. I love going there to change up the monotony of Leb. I can't wait to see what's in store for the re-routes. :etard:
