Work will consist of finishing off the Dingo and BOB built sections of singletrack just south of pond section of the park. We also might go for a little walk to scope out and finish some of the wooded singletrack in the Southwest corner of the park.

Where: Salem Hills Parking Lot. Upper 55th street between hwy 52 and South Robert Trail. (Gold Star on the Map) we will probably leave from the parking lot and park down at the red star. Through the end of the 63rd off of Babcock. If your late you can meet us there.

When: 6:00pm

What to Bring: Long Pants, Water, Bug Spray.
Tools and direction will be provided.

New MORC trailwork shirts will also be given out to any new workers.

I talked to the boss(wife), and she says I have to work on the home landscaping. I guess I will have to save it for another Monday. Crap....

To bad Greg,

Troy and I could have given you a little better idea about Mammoth.

Maybe next week.

Maybe there is a slim chance if I can get some of my work done and get over there by 6:30ish. I hope to see you then.

Many thanks to everyone who showed up tonight for work at Harmon. We actually almost ran out of Tools!!! That is a first!!!!

We were able to complete all of the trail work on the cut sections of the northern sections of the southern trail loop. We only have to wait for Tim and Dale to Dingo and Bob the 2 short sections on the west side and the section on the East side and we will be able to finish it off.

We also completed finish work on all the wooded Trail in the South West Corner.

I am Proposing that we call that section of trail "Ellie's Loop" Since out friendly four legged friend, the Golden Retriever helped so much on that section.

For everyone who was wondering, Lance / Ellie was a Golden who showed up to help us as we were working in the Woods. Nowone could figure out where she came from and she didn't to leave. She followed us all the way back to the upper 55th parking lot.

I loaded her up and drove around to the south side opf the park. Having never been there before I paked in a culdesac below a coupe of houses and walked into the woods with her to try and pinpoint where I was. 30 yards in and I was standing on the trail we had just cut,

We went back out and ran into the neighboors, who told me Lance's real name, Ellie, and that she lived next door to them.

So everyone is back home safe and sound, I met some neighbors who are very encouraging about the work we are doing, and with a crew as large as we had tonight, we should be a max of three weeks away from opening up the southern 4 miles of trail.

Stay Tuned

Troy, did you get a picture of Lance/Ellie?

Good news about Ellie, she's a sweet dog.

It was nice to finally see the trails down there, I can't wait to ride them, Harmon will be a great addition to the metro family of trails.

What a great night. It was great to have so many people come out. Not to mention our little four legged mascot. Nice work on getting her back James! Unfortunately I don't think I got her in any more pictures. I intended to get the camera out again and snap a few more with her in them but for whatever reason I never did.

And I can say for sure that the weeds in question were NOT poison ivy.

Well, that is unless I somehow am no longer terribly allergic to it or was incredibly lucky to not step in any as I stumbled around in the woods with short pants on.

Amazing to see how much vegetation has spread out there since last fall. This should be a great flowing trail.

I've slathered down with the Technu a couple of times already, I'm pretty paranoid after this spring. Every itch this morning from bug bites or whatever has me worried.

A girl that worked with my wife got really bad exposure this spring and it went systemic which basically means it internalized. She actually quit because of it. So there's that to make me even more paranoid.

All this talk of poison ivy and we'll scare people right off the trail. Those plants did look a lot larger than the usual specimens but you never know. I understand the concern. I've had a few spots of it this year already. My mom used to get it very easily and badly. I remember as a kid that sometimes she would get it from handling my clothes when washing them. It does suck for those that really have a sensitivity to it.

I like the sound of Ellie's loop! I'm glad she made it back.
