Looks like lance and co. have a new sponsor for 05 http://www.velonews.com/news/fea/6280.0.html Discovery Communication's. That should be good for cycling in the US with more cycling coverage, I'm sure they are going to want to get there moneys worth. I just hope that American Cyclist doesn’t air right after American Chopper:D

Now maybe we'll see Lance and company race the Giro under the new racing rules next year.

That's exactly what it looks like. The new sponsorship moves the team to the Pro Tour league. This means that the team will now race in all three grand tours - Giro d'Italia, Tour de France, and Vuelta a Espana. That's going to make next year's racing season even better! :etard:

... Dan Osipow, vice president for Tailwind Sports, said the team had more than one interested suitor, but finalized the deal with Discovery due to its worldwide reach and its ability to support the team's role in the new Pro Tour league. He was unsure, however, whether Berry Floor will retain its title sponsor status or continue as a co-sponsor. The Pro Tour will require the team to expand its European ridership to 25 professionals and three under-23 racers, as well as ride all three grand tours and the World Cup races.

Looks like the U.S. will have a pretty good Olympic cycling team. Lance Armstrong, Tyler Hamilton, George Hincapie, Bobby Julich and Jason McCartney.
