Hey all,

Just a quick little note on the status of Salem Hills.

We have finished off the first of the 3 stacked loops and it is in good shape.

Dale and Tim are going to be doing the last little bit of Dingo and Bob work today on the southern sections.

We will be working on completing the finishing work on the southern 2 loops and fixing a couple of low spots that we identified during last months monsoons.

If we can get crews of 10 or so the next 2 weeks, we might be able to have a 4-5 mile rideable loop in the southern part of the Park in July.

I am trying to plan a Saturday Opening Party at the park and would like it to be in mid July.

But we need more people with tools in their hands!!!!!!!

We had 5 last night and though I have confirmation from a couple of more next week, we need everyone to come out and help us get this trail open for riding!!!!

Just think, you can come out and help for 6 hours and get a brand new park to ride in.

If you have any questions, of need more info, please contact me

Just curious, but what are the plans for Harmon beyond the stuff you are currently working on. Is there stuff to continue working on once the park is open?

I'm not sure I'll come out and help if this is the type of trailwork session you are holding.... ;)

Just kidding... I'll see if I can be out there next Monday as well. This is exciting!

The Plan is to open the southern loops when they are completed. This will be between 4-5 miles worth of trails.

We have been awarded a grant along with the city to make some other improvements to the park. Upgraded paved trail from the parking lot to the Trail Head, interprative nature trail behind the school, and completion of another loop ~1 mile on the north side of the park, along with a few other things.

We have used every single part of the park that we can and have put, or have plans to put trail in all of them. The park is probably around 60 square acres, and out trail goes through almost all of those squares.

If everything goes well here, and the city receives lots of positive feedback about what we have done, we do have the opportunity to develope another park in the city.
