I was thinking of making a trip to The Farm tomorrow. Can anybody tell me what the trail conditions are? I would imagine its quite wet.
Also, never ridden it before, is anybody riding it tomorrow?

I sure would like to know too. I am planning on going on Wednesday. I work right by there, and am probably going to walk it at lunch. I will post what I see.

I rode the farm this afternoon. (The only other time I was there I cracked my knee in the first 1/2 mile and limped two laps behind my buddies noticing nothing but pain from my leg.) Well this time I was in one piece, And I noticed what an absolutely awesome place the farm is. Kudos to whoever layed out and maintains that trail. The curves are so fluid, the technical corners are tough to get around, the uphills are the limit of what's possible to spin up, the down hills are hairy, and all the stuff along the edge of the ravine is so cool. I had a blast and got a great workout!

After the bits of rain we recently received how are the trails? I am going to be visiting my parents in Waconia this saturday and wouldn't mind squeezing in a ride if the trails are game.

I won't know until tomorrow morning if I can go (noon Friday), but there's a medium possibility. I haven't been to the farm in about 3 years. I'll post or PM you mid-morning tomorrow if I can go.

I rode the farm last sunday before it rained. It was in good condition of a touch sticky. The thing is, the trails are starting to get torn up for construction. A big dumpster and red tape was on top of the hill of the main entrance trail. The section of trail that borders the new high school (stupid high school) was also torn up as part of a road they built. I didn't get to the back side before it started to downpour on me.
On a side note, I saw a family with young children and some high schoolers on rigid bikes riding the farm backwards. I'm all for people trying out trails, but they seemed a bit inexperienced?!

I rode the farm this afternoon. I watched my buddy dissapear over the lip of that super steep hill that goes down to the wooden bridge over the creek behind the highschool. I heard screams. The bridge was broke and tipped on edge. My buddy bailed off his bike to avoid impaling on the tangle of wood and nails, and didn't get hurt. Not something we could fix, so we piled logs over the top of the hill to force people to dismount rather than kill themselves.

Just wondering if the farm is too wet to ride later this afternoon, If it's rideable, would anyone like to go. I've never been there so I would need a guide, but I'm sure that I wouldn't lag behind too far. Just let me know.

Chris, I have not been to the farm (or any trail) today. However, I was at leb last night, and it looks like it is going to take a couple days of nice weather to dry it out. We've had nothing but slow soaking rain over the last few days, and almost no sun.
That said, If someone knows differently, I'd be interested in joining you for a ride at the farm this afternoon.

I was at the farm last night and it was great. It's nice and dry and someone has fixed the bridge at the end of oh shoot #2. The trail is in great shape right now and someone has been fixing up what the construction guys have takin out. Thanks again to the Farm crew for fixing this awesome trail up.

Rode the Farm last night and it is in prime condition. I could fly through the turns and not break loose. The little teeter is even back, well 80% of it. Conditions were so good that I continued on to ride Mammoth too.

The "Farm Crew" is saying that it is a little too wet to ride right now. It sounds like they have some trail maintenance planned in the days ahead. If the skies stay clear... a big IF... I would still give it a day or two to dry out before attempting to ride the Farm.

Trails are in great condition. There are a couple of mud spots and one good washout so dont ride it as fast as you normally would.

My buddy and I went out there today and had a nice ride. We saw a lot of it, but I am sure we still missed about 1/3. There was a bridge out in the ravine, but not in an area that someone wouldn't be able to see it. The jump at the beginning seemed to be stable, I took it a few times (you know to make sure it was safe for other people). It would have helped to have a guide since the trail is covered in leaves. I did my best impression of a tracker to make my way through the woods. We saw no less than a dozen deer traveling in three different packs. Overall we had a great time and the trail was in decent shape all things considered. I am glad we got to ride this one before it is gone for good. Thanks to everyone that designed and kept up the trail over the years.

We did a nice Mammoth/Farm ride yesterday and want to let you know that the Farm is in descent shape. Since no one is maintaining the trail any more, I would recommend riding with caution and not going as fast as you would if you know the trail very well.
The first jump is not safe and you should go to the right of it and ride the 2x8 across the ravine. Hopefully a Chaskite will get out there and either fix the jump or remove it. There is a bridge out down in the ravine section that is supposed to have 3 bridges, but now has just 2. A couple of other areas have washed out as well. Overall, it was great to get out to the Farm again before they fill in all those lovely ravines with dirt for Hwy 312.
It seems that very few people are riding the trail due to the amount of leaves still on the trail. It's still definitely worth a trip and if you ride take a minute or 2 to kick a few logs/branches off the trail. We will hopefully have a crew out to at least clear trail debris and fix the bridge, but just about all of the effort is at Mammoth these days.

I rode last night after finishing up Mammoth. Looks like someone has started to rebuild the first jump. You would need more speed to clear the gap though. I would recommend scouting it first , if you plan on riding it. The first bridge is also very bad but the rest of the trail before the Big Woods is in pretty good condition. As for the Big Woods, the trails are covered with thick leaves so it is not as fast. Everything else seems to be intact. Like Dave said, ride with caution.

It sounds like the destruction of the Farm has begun. I have not seen it with my own eyes, but have heard about it from others. The road builders have started to remove trees and have destroyed some of the lovely tar and gravel trails around the Farm. Looks like she's done.

RIP Farm... The Farm Team & Mammoth still live...
The little drop into Sphincter Ravine and Hip Toss was always my favorite punishment... Live on LOD1 & 2... How about a 3???

Prepare to be disapointed, the farm was my favorite trail in it's day, but now it has been almost been ripped in half by bulldozers. You will still be able to ride about half of it but some of the best sections are already destroyed. :cryin:

I rode down to The Farm this morning 6/21. I entered on the Super America side, rode past the jump and shortly thereafter I came to a clearing where the dozers have cut through. It appears that The Farm is done. I haven't checked out the Chaska HS side at all but I'm guessing that's not rideable either. Mammoth it is then!

I rode the Farm on Friday night (6/23) and it's gone, leveled. Most of it is destroyed just small parts still exist. I couldn't even recognize parts of it. I only tried the front part, I don't know if the part after the gravel trail still exists. Pretty sad! Onto Mammoth...
