Howdy guys! I'll be up that way next week for a couple of days & was gonna rent a bike Friday afternoon (thanks guys for the rental suggestions a couple of weeks ago) & was wonderin if any of you guys/gals would consider showing a girl the trails. I'm staying near the metrodome & will have a rental car with no bike rack, so not sure how far I'll be able to haul the bike. I'd call myself an intermediate rider (just finished my first racing season) & would say climbing is my weak point. Not sure how the weather effects your trails up there, but the littlest shower will shut down the trails here. Also, I probably won't have internet access, so do you guys have some kind of phone # that can be called to check trail conditions? Thanks for any info & look forward to meeting you guys & checking out the trails!!!!!

Denise,

Welcome to the Twin Cities!!!

If you will be up for a ride and have a Bike Friday evening, Give me a call.

612-207-7102. If you are staying near the Dome, We could meet at One-on-One bike gallery. It is about 8 blocks north on Washington. the road that Runs up the East side of the Dome. If that won't work. I would suggest stopping by that shop any time your up here. I don't know where you are getting a rental, but Gene would be more then willing to loan/rent you one. He would also be a great source for where to ride and when.

There is a great system of single track about a 6 mile ride on paved trails from the Metro Dome.

Give me a call either way and I'll be sure and let you know ride times, trail conditions, whatever you need.

I've actually thought about a conditions phone - kind of like the ski resorts use. Hmmm...

I don't know about that James guy. You should call me instead. 612-209-8759

A girl drops a note on this site and wants to go mountain biking and all you stiffs just stand there with your backs against the wall? What's up? Well some of you are married I guess. So bring the wife too...if she's into that sort of thing. I mean mountain biking with you and another woman that is.

Thanks Shawn, that's all I needed.

Scare the good southern girl off. At least I lived in Southern Oklahoma for 6 years, doesn't count for much, but I havn't been up here all my life :)

At least I didn;t invite her on our Booze Cruise Pub Crawl next saturday. IU thought that would have been a little much?

What do you think Denise? :cheesy:

I was going to suggest the Wednesday Night womens ride out of Penn Cycle, But didn't know if you would be up here for that. If you are interested, let me know and I'll send you the leaders email address.

James.

P.S. My Brother is a Vet in Lincoln, NE.

Hey wait a minute how come I never heard of this booze cruise? You know we don't know anything about this woman from Texas. Isn't Texas where that chainsaw movie happened? I'm a little worried now.

P.S. I have a uncle who is a vet in Charleston, Indiana. I don't know what that has to do with this but I thought I should throw it in.

Woo-hoo, so many offers, what's a girl to do? Unfortunately, I actually have to work (ultrasound labs) during this seminar, so I'll only have Friday from about 2:00 on free to ride & I fly back down here to the Dallas Inferno Saturday morning. The only bike shop I've had success in contacting was Calhoun Cycles on Lake street, but I'll try the other shop you listed as well. As for the former Okie, if you remember when you lived that close to the Red River, beer is a staple of life down here. Thank god they finally discovered the wonderful world of imports! ( & thank god for mountain biking to work off those beer bellies!) I'm sorry I have to leave Sat. morning & will miss the Booze Cruise Pub Crawl. As for the chainsaw, who needs that when we got the multi-tool ...Good for any situation. Talk at you guys later

It's a good thing I'm not around ultrasound equipment. I would take the wheel off my bike and run the ultrasound thingy over the tire to see what the inside looked like on the computer.

I will probably be free on Friday if you want to go riding. I don't really work so I will be free most of the time.

I fly in today (Wednesday) and am staying @ the Four Points Sheraton 612/331-1900 & my cell is 214/514-5044. When I was looking on the weather channel, it's calling for rain the rest of the week. I would still love to get out & ride Friday, but wasn't sure about your trail closures. You've had a lot of rain, but you guys have a lot of trees up there to dissapate it as well. I'm still bringing my helmet & shoes just in case. Would love to hook up!

See ya later
