Got a new (used) car.

It's a 91 Honda Prelude 2.0si. A friend of mine has a Yakima rack he is willing to give me. All I would need are mounts. Does anyone here know much about mounts and how much they are. Not bike mounts, the footing mounts that latch the roof rack to the car.

Just use the Yakima Configurator (http://www.yakima.com/choose_my_rack/) it will tell you exactly what you need.

If you already have the Q Towers, all you need to do is get new Q clips that fit your car.

since it is a '91 you could also use the old school sst towers/mounts. they work on anything before '96 as long as you get the right clips. could be much cheaper than the Q's.


Sounds like the rack doesn't have the have the towers/mounts? Or does it just not have the clips?

I have some old sst towers laying around that you can have - and a couple set of clips but they probably don't fit a prelude.

Someone said they were going to give me a rack...I don't know anything about it except that it came off a 89 Honda Civic hatchback.

I will ask more about the rack and check out the clip option.
