I was reading through the MTBR midwest forums a little this afternoon and saw some discussions of MTB trails (or extreme lack thereof) in the Milwaukee area (where I grew up). It occurred to me how damm lucky I am to live in an area where I could both ski and Mountain bike, all without leaving the city limits. That isn't the case in other parts of the country. If I still lived in Milwaukee, I'd be a roadie.... :fool:
I can ski practically out my front door, and with a short drive to BC, I can ride to my heart's content. By the end of the summer, there will be two more places to ride (Wirth and Inver Grove). We've got lots of good people here, doing great things to improve access to the sports they love.
I really need to remeber this the next time I grumble about putting the bike rack on the back of the car.
