If you notice details and you have ridden the eastern end of the bluff trail below Indian Mounds School and in/around Mound Springs park you may have seen evidence (paint ball stains) of paintball shooting.

Evidently this is recent activity and the City of Bloomington is interested in having it stopped.

So:

1) if you know the folks that participated in this please ask them to knock it off.

2) if you witness the activity taking place please call the Bloomington police - using 911 is OK in this situation as public safety is involved (free on a cell phone) or 952 563 4900 non-emergency. Give your location as best you can. Also, please let me know by e-mail as I'll let the parks dept know we put a call in.

This is an opportunity to help the parks dept.

Thanks.

Last year, just after dusk I was coming up one of the climbs near the Indian Mounds end of the trail with a friend and whap! I got nailed in the upper thigh, uncomfortably close to a more vulnerable part of my anatomy, with a paintball. I heard the guns being fired but it was too dark to see anything. I called out for them to stop shooting and they called back "Sorry" and I continued on my way. Hurt like hell and pissed me off. I am happy to see paintball "officially" banned from the River Bottoms.

I have seen them down there twice this year. I will put in a call if I see them again.
