I crashed hard on the second bridge in the XX Loop at Leb today. I don't know, but my approach was not right and I put on the brakes right as I was hopping over the log. I must not have been thinking, because I put on my front brake too hard and as soon as my front wheel landed on the bridge, I went over the bars faster than you can say.....well, you wouldn't have time to say anything....

I slammed onto the bridge and my bike just went flying off the side somewhere. It was kind of funny at first, I was by myself, but then soon I felt the pain. Nothing too serious, just a sore knee and ankle. I am used to crashing, but not so unexpected. I just slammed into the wood not knowing what happened. Yes I had a helmet on, no I did not use it.

Just a reminder. Stay within your limits or just don't do stupid stuff like putting on a front brake when most of you weight in gonna be going forward.

Ouch. Glad you had your helmet on but didn't have to use it :)

I am not the most accomplished rider then decided to take the X route last Sat. The bruises are looking really sweet today. I went into it a tad tired. So don't ride tired either.

Unfortunately the only way that I could ride the XX without being tired is if the entrance was moved to the parking lot.

You know you've crashed well when you get to the emergency and the attending doctor goes, 'Oh my....' and then runs off to get someone else. :crazy2:

At least the helmet is ok

just playin, I've had a few close calls on my road bike when I took a downhill S-curve on the new trail down here at 35 mph. If I went off the trail I'd go down an enbankment and land in a swampy area so I'd be ok then:banana:
