Any ideas on removing a crank that won't budge?
I have the crank nut off, but I cannot get it to budge. I have even tried a rubber mallet. It won't budge. :crazy2:

Uh oh....
Steel Spinde and Aluminum Arms? Could have welded.
Might be some type of release compound out there. Anyone?

I am a big fan of the philosophy: "If all else fails, get a bigger hammer." However, a rubber mallet is not the proper tool for removing a crank. Make sure to remove the bolt and washer (if applicable) and use the proper crank-puller.
For detailed instructions, see: Park Tool Repair Help (http://www.parktool.com/repair_help/FAQrCarm.shtml).
Are you using a crank puller? Like Ken said, that is what you'll need. If you get yourself one of those there should me no need for a hammer of any sort.

I ran to Penn and picked up a crank puller. Less than 10 seconds and the one side was off. I never knew there was such a thing. It was sweet.
Had to see what kind of BB I needed. Now I can order the new one for my Liquid and use my old Shimano cranks for a while.
You won't be hearing me creaking up the hills scaring all of the animals anymore!!!
