I had a question, today I noticed a yellow laminated sign on the telephone pole at the Bloomington Ferry trail head. There were actually two, but one was really faded and old. It says the trail is closed because it is wet and to ride it another time, thanks your fellow riders, or something close to that. Anyone know how old the sign is? I walked the first couple hundred yards of the trail before I rode it. Then I rode it and it's in pretty good shape with only a few spots near the Lyndale side that are too wet to ride. I had a thought that a date on the sign might be helpful, I couldn't tell if it was left over from the thaw or if it was new since Sunday. I also wanted to say thanks to those who put up the signs and inform us on the trails.

Looks like we need to update that sign. The signs are there to ask people to stay off they trail if conditions are prone to damaging the trail. A lot of people are still relatively new to off-road riding that still don't know when it's not a good time to ride. We'll work on it.

Thanks for reading the signs - these signs are all over and they are springtime oriented and basically ask you to not ride when the trails are muddy - which is often in spring - you found them not muddy - so you rode - that is OK.

I do agree that we should put up different signs that have similar message - i.e. that anytime the trails are muddy - say springtime and 0 to 48 hours after recent rains that riders should stay off the trails - if anyone wants to help by doing this I'm all ears.

Dennis and Steve,

While we're at it, we could use another "IMBA Rules" sign on the east side of the raft, and maybe one at the Lyndale trailhead. I know they may not get read, but at least they are somthing to point at when you catch up to the idiot who just tried to shove you off "his" trail. :fool:

Ride safe,
