Those are some tough trails. I got to ride some weird rock creation and also did some crazy planks laid out with curves in it. I don't know how to explain them, you just have to see them.

Worth is good, especially if you like technical.

That's "Wirth" as in "Theodore Wirth Park". :)

The giant rock thingy is technically part of the Brownie Lake Trail.

It's cool you finally got over there, I knew you would dig it.

Is Brownie Lake south of 394?

Shad, were you at Erik's in SLP last Saturday (the 10th) ?

I was pleased to finally discover the Brownie Lake trails this weekend. I'd heard they existed, but for some reason thought they were in a totally different area along the Cedar Lake trail. Best part: it's a 3.7 mile ride from my house!

So, I may only be seen at places like Lebanon on weekends from now on, since I will no longer have to fight traffic from downtown to Eagan just to go riding. I can just leave from home now! Woo!

This also means I'll have no excuse not to show up for the Werth trail work days, though ...

I've been out to Warth probably 3 times now and keep finding new trails there. It's pretty cool, and I can definitely see how all we're really going to need is to connect them up in place and add signage. Of course, there are some obvious erosion spots that will have to be re-routed.

I'm guessing that the ultimate goal with the test track is to pave the way for approval to build more singletrack in the south end of Wurth? Is that what you meant, Pat, by "connecting it up with Brownie Lake"?

I think in the best case that something like that is the goal, but it is really still all up in the air until the pilot project is complete. I would think that the future of Brownie is somewhat unknown as well since it does have some pretty obvious problems.

Shame on you Shad, riding all that crazy stuff and posting pictures without wearing a helmet. What kind of image are you trying to show. A big JK to ya.

It's not Shad's fault he didn't have a helmet, it's mine! MUWA HA HA HA!!!

I called him up Saturday and he happened to be at his parents in SLP. He rode his P2 there from his place and we decided to just meet up at Brownie. He didn't even have a Camelbak. We had to stop at the Theo Wirth pro shop to get him water.

If he'd had his choice, he would have worn one. ;)

I definitely see how Brownie Lake's got problems, but if we ever got approval to develop trails in the southern end of Theo ... wow! There's so much potential there. This winter when we finally got all that snow I was out there every day I could with the x-country skiis enjoying the backcountry skiing experience, feeling like I was out in the wilderness, then reaching the top of a hill and looking down on 394 backed up with snowy traffic. :)

I have actually started to wear a helmet more. My original rule is that I will wear one when clipped in since I can't bail as easily. My P.2 has platforms so I am okay with not wearing a helmet.

The issue of so many people bugging me about not wearing one has gotten me to wear one more often. I guess I am supposed to set an example or something. So I bought a cool looking freeride, bmx, or skate helmet. I call it the Tard Lid (not very politically correct.....I know). I don't really like the roadie style super vented aero helmets most riders wear. I do own one with a visor, but I am just not into the look for some reason. If anyone is interested in being cool like me, I got my helmet (it's a Bell Faction http://www.bellbikehelmets.com/main/product/faction.html) at Freewheel......:).

I was there with a friend who was buying a bike (03 Enduro-that b*st**d!). There was a guy there who resembled your pictures. I wasn't sure since none of the pics have a clear shot of your mug.

Nope....wasn't me. We have not met yet.....that's weird. I just met Doug for the first time on a group ride at the River Bottoms.

I think when you see me, you will know it's me. For some reason I stand out, I just havn't figured out why yet.......
