I'm most likely going to the River Bottoms tomorrow 4/17/04 for my first time. I'm not sure what time I'm going, but I'm going with my brother in law so it should be fun. We just have to stay ahead of the rain. If it does rain it will be an inside day and PC gaming instead.

What kind of shape are the RB in after the 1100 acre weinie roast they put out earlier today? Check out the Star Trib article http://www.startribune.com/stories/462/4723107.html
Did the fire hurt the trails at all? Are the trails even in the same vicinity?

Good question. I think that was just NE of the trail. Last night they said that it was really close to the airport. I just may bring some weenies though just encase I can get an early lunch in while I'm down there.

My understanding is that the fire was all in Eagan, on the south-east side of the river, but I will check it out this afternoon.
Remember, only forest fires can prevent bears.
Ride safe,

I live near where the fire was. It wouldn't have affected the River Bottems. It was North of Black Dog Wild Life Refuge. So, unless you plan to go North your fine.

I'll be down there too for the first time maybe, around 4 though. Also going to hit Leb.
If it does rain it will be an inside day and PC gaming instead.
What game? Online? Maybe I'll join ya. :)

Well, I'm supposed to go to a LAN party tomorrow night, but I'm being lazy and not going. They are most likely going to be playing UT2K4, BF Vietnam, DC, BF 1942, WC3, Ghost Recon and whatever else anyone feels like playing. My VPN router is supposed to be done tonight, so I can still game with them from home over the LAN :D That will be nice. I might play some Diablo 2, Sacred, Neverwinter Nights, or Dungeon Siege after I get home since its supposed to rain sat night and all day sunday.
Anyways, it looks like the river bottoms is out of the question, since my Bro-in-law has to take his daugter with. So, maybe some time out in Shakopee instead with everyone. That sounds like fun :)

Shawn,
You found Sacred huh? What do you think? I have been running though it since demo and had a copy of the german version before buying my own UK version.
Mostly playing SP right now, waiting for some of the patches to improve online play.
I have been very impressed sofar.

Humm.....I don't really play any of those. I only have UT2K3, Quake3 TA, Halo, TA, NHL04, Rainbow Six, Delta Force 2, MythII, and Half Life CS. That about does it for my major online games. If you play any of them maybe I'll join. Have fun!

River Valley is fire zone free! But the area east of the 494 bridge is all burned out pretty bad, not smoldering or smoking that i could see, but i just rode by. but it looks pretty ugly right now. Hope it grows back nice and green!

Um, yeah. I'm checking out the demo right now.Its tough when both my wife and I play games on our own pc's, because I always have to buy 2 copies of every game. I will get back to you in a few days about how I like it though.

Yeah, we ended up going to the paved trail in Shakopee. It was fun until we had a bike issue. But, that's okay things like that happen. Hopefully I will be making it out to the trail in Bloomington sometime during the early summer. Or so I hope.
