Anybody watch Paris - Roubaix?

What is it with George Hincapie, he frequently comes so close, but never seems to have what it takes to pull off a win.

It would have been nice to see Museeuw take his last Paris-Roubaix too, but as usual anything can happen on the cobbles.

I missed it :( anyone tape it? Yeah Hincapie always does stuff like that, but hes a great rider still and Musseuw is damn monster, would have been nice for him to win yes, but hes done a lot in the past too so he's set.

I watched and taped it too. The coverage this year was pretty choppy. For awhile Paul and Phil were getting excited about Hincapie riding up front and then a commercial break. When the coverage resumed a whole new lead group had formed sans George with no mention to what had happened. Oh well I don't want to whine about TV coverage, at least there was coverage and on the same day.

Hincapie will NOT win a major classic until he's got the support he needs, and he will never get it on the "TdF or nothing" USPS team. Hate to say it.

He's spent five years riding on the front of the TdF, climbing hills, etc.... he needs to learn how to sprint again.

I really think Hincapie needs to take the plunge drop Postal and move to a team like Lotto-Domo or Quick Step where he would have the support needed to win a classic and not have to be anyone’s B@#$@h in July. Oh well its his choice!

Just watched it off my tivo last night. I was refraining from reading this thread (and reading velonews.com) so not to ruin the suspense. I agree - the coverage was pretty weak. Usually OLN does a pretty good job but this time not so good. George and Boonan (sp?) just disapeared with no mention......

Sorry Doug - I deleted it off the tivo when I was done. I'll check to see if they are replaying it.........but given the way they covered it you didn't miss much.

It seems like they are only giving them an hour to televise the classics, so they must have had to do some pretty heavy editing to the footage. Probably not Paul and Phil's fault, I can't imagine they would miss commenting on something like that.

Gotta leave plenty of time for all of the crappy hunting and fishing shows because you know the outdoor channel just isn't enough for those people. I'm not bitter though.

Speaking of the TDF, anyone watching OLN's TDF buildup on Thursday evenings.
This years Tour is going to be very interesting but let's save that for another thread.
