Moab trip

A group of my friends from Denver do a spring and fall trip to Moab. Our spring trip is going to be the weekend of May 14-16th. It is usually a blast. The more the better. Post here if you are interested in going.

Also, I usually end up renting a bike at one of the Moab bike shops when I fly into Denver. But I was thinking of maybe trying to bring my bike by getting a bike box. This will only be worthwhile if the airline (NWA) doesn't charge me extra for an oversized bike box. I've heard that if it is your only checked luggage you may get away without the charge. What is your experience? Any recommended inexpensive bike boxes out there?
