I got a new Serfa bike box today.

Obviously I wont be using it all the time. I am willing to rent it to any MORC/MOCA members for $25 a week and the money will be sent to MORC/MOCA. You write the check to MORC when you pick it up and I'll mail it off. I don't know if $25 sounds high to people but the thing wasn't cheap and if you fly it out on a bike friendly airline it's cheaper than renting a bike for one day and it's better than putting it in a cardboard box. It also has wheels so you dont have to drag it around or rent a cart at the airport.
My 29er fits in it ok so a 26er will have even more room. The bike fits with the front shock on but I removed it so I could better center the frame and not have to worry about the front sprocket or rear derailer hitting the inside of the case. An FS should fit ok too but you might have to remove the front shock depending on how big it is which is real easy on most bikes. Either way it shouldnt take more than a few allen wrenches and 20 minutes to disassemble the thing. It will probably take even less time to reassemble the thing when you get to where you are going because you wont be trying to fit it in a case and you'll be all excited to ride you bike some where else!

If you fly on America West of Frontier Airlines bikes fly for free if you use Adventure Travel http://bikesfly.com/ and
http://content.onlineagency.com/c/13/13793/1357075_13793.htm
Just make sure you phone in you flight. I booked a flight and they seemed reasonable. (vegas for $189 on 1 1/2 weeks notice)
If you go another direction on getting your airline tickets like going right to America West instead of using Adventure Travel to get the tickets it will probably cost $80 to bring the bike one way meaning $160 round trip.
I checked a few other airlines and they all seem to charge the same.
I got my ticket mailed to me and it says right on the ticket -
"Excess Bicycle charges waived per CAMS ap1020. Your bicycle must be in an approved container. The airline will not be held liable for fragile packiging"
Send me a PM or email if you want to use it and be prepared to show you are a member. I'm not just going to hand it out to anyone.
