Just called up Rib Mtn Cycles to get the opening date for 9 mile.......it was May 15th but got bumped up to MAY 1st!!!!!!!!! Sooooo if anyone wants to get out there with me if its not wet during that first week, gimmie a shout cuz im gonna be traveling thata way!! Its 180 miles from Mps to Wausau so its drive there eat, ride some, eat, ride more, drive back.....easily a day trip! Well worth it too if you've never ridden out there.....and you can get the idea of the trails for when ya'll come with me for the 24 hours of 9 mile in August!! I might be game to make a day trip. I was just checking out the information on the 24 hour race in August yesterday. I am internally debating whether to do Afton, 9 mile, or both. I guess a fair amount has to do with how the summer goes.

I will keep my eyes on the message board here, it would be fun to get on the road early, ride for several hours, and head home.... Something during the week?

Not sure on days yet, trying to get a group going. It seems that my regular day off is Tuesdays, and every other weekend, but im trying to change things up that way. Would be nice to have ya come with! And as far as racing goes, the 9 mile course rocks, and the race atmosphere is a TON better than Afton ever has been or will be (sry guys) mainly since pro teams race it, and there is bigger money behind it. You would not be sorry if you did it!

Not really sure what this 9 mile thing is but it sounds good. How would you describe the trail? And how far away is it?

Its 180 miles away straight east........trails are a nice mix of open doubletrack, tight twisty singletrack, some nice rock gardens and log rolls, really kick ass sweeping techinical sections....mostly in the shade, its also an active logging area around it so you get to smell frsh cut wood which is kidna nice when its all quiet and your rolling thru the woods. Its my favorite trail system in the area (never rode Levis tho)

Have fun Douglas! The camping and riding sounds like a good time. I've been wanting to hit 9 mile for quite a while. Can't go this weekend but maybe another time.

We should add this trail to the "Out of State Trails" section, it sounds like a great trail.. Anyone have some trail pics from there?
