Hey ya'll you might be interested or might not be, but......a local guy Adam Bergman, riding for Jelly Belly took 3rd overall in the Redlands Stage race. Its kinda cool to have a local guy kicking ass in the domestic race scene, Ive never met him personally, but i have much respect for the guy! He came out of Bianchi/GP from here and made it bigtime! Im sure Andy can fill us in on more *hint hint*
Results are up at http://www.velonews.com/race/dom/articles/5785.r.html
there is more at www.cyclingnews.com (http://www.cyclingnews.com) as well
and if you have never been to or dont know about it www.mcf.net (http://www.mcf.net) is the local road site, check it out sometime!
Keep it up Adam!!

yeah, dunno.... Bergman is an awesome rider, we knew that before this year... he was in the break at NYC last year, I saw pics of him riding behind Gilberto Simoni at the T Mobile International (SF Grand Prix).... in addition to leading the GC in the Nature Valley GP for a while last year in his first NRC race as a full pro.
Paul Ellis joined him at Jelly Belly this year, he's a local who came out of GP as well. Pete Knutson is pro as well, rode for Schroeder Iron last year. During Superweek last year, Jonas Carney was quoted on velonews.com as saying "If you want to make the break, follow Pete Knutson, he makes the break every damn day"
I'd also say there are at least six to 10 guys that race locally around here that could latch on with pro squads if they really wanted to, but I guess they like staying local. and/or are involved with other cycling disciplines...

Ha! really, I don't know anything 'cept I'm just a whippin' boy for my team mates. They're the fastest guys I know (personally), but there's lots of others. I've heard of this Timmer dood too, hour record or something....

Yeah, I wasn't gonna name names, but Tim Mulrooney is definitely a guy that could latch on with a pro team if he tried, I am pretty sure.
I won't name any more names.
