Yo
Mark your calendars for the weekend of April 16-18th. Shenanigans taking place just 2 hours south of Des Moines. I rode here over Halloween, can't wait to go back.
This from Doug Long, local trail advocate/trail builder extraordinaire:
Mark: Great hearing from ya! You can get general info from the race website but I can fill you in on details. Here we go! We run the race out of CampGrand River on top. We have 7 bunkhouses, Dining Hall, and Rec Hall. You can either camp free or reserve a spot in the bunkhouse. We have a rider special; for $10.00-$15.00 you get two nights bunkhouse lodging, dinner Sat night, and breakfast Sunday morning. Riders start arriving Friday night. We have Blue Grass Music Jam on Saturday night and is open to anyone that wants to join in. We had a great showing last year of musicians and people sitting around the campfire about 30 yards all the way around. We had great weather and an ideal night for it. We put up a big screen and project Bike movies Friday and Saturday. Popcorn popper and brew on site. Two races: 18 mile point to point Saturday (10 mles for beginners) and Cross Country Race Sunday. Separate prizes and payout each day. Come on down and bring your buds and I'll try to get a group to head up your way one weekend.
