I think I got the OK from the wife to buy a new ride. However, It comes with a Duke XC and a set of Mavic 221 wheels with Shimano hubs. I want to put my fork and wheels on the new bike so I would be looking to sell both of these.

Also, it comes with Avid rim brake. I will be putting my discs on.

Anyone interested in any or all of these items let me know. None of these items will have any time on them. I will be changing them over immediately.

What kind of bike are you buying? Just curious about what people are looking at.

It is a Specialized Epic. Can't get the wife to OK the M5 frame, but the M4 is still a great frame and the prices can't be beat right now.

I've got some Mavic 317s with Stan's No tubes and a Manutou Skareb Elite fork with Avid discs. It is such a nice set up that I want to switch them over and probably drop the weight by 1.5 to 2 lbs over the stock bike.

I ride a 2003 Trek Fuel90 with the duke xc. I've been wanting to convert my wheels and tires to stan's as well but the season went by so fast that by the time I really got serious about it my rear tire was well worn so I'm going to do it this spring when I buy those Specialized Roll-X tires. I upgraded my fuel right when I bought it to XTR rear deraileur and XT shifters and front deraileur. The shop gave me a deal and kept the take offs. That made it a lot cheaper than riding it and doing it gradually. It really works well. Does the stan's conversion really make a noticable difference? Also , do you have any experience with the Roll-X tires in comparision to others?

Since I currently ride a hardtail, Stans cut off some weight and it does make the ride more plush.

Some of the advantages of Stans over UST is lower weight since you can use any tubed tire and they are lighter than tubess tires also use a good set of regualr rims which are also lighter than UST rims. So say you save 200 grams (about 1/2 lb) that is equivalent in effort to about a 1.5 lb savings in frame weight. I am sold on Stans since I never suffered a pinch flat or any other flat. I did roll the bead off the rim once, but was able to pull the bead back on, add a little air and off I went.

I have heard the Roll X are great in dry but put them on something tacky or muddy and no go.

Go Stans. Also, it is fun just to call Stan and talk, he is one of those cary professor types. He is always working on something and will always help you out if you have a problem.

So the Roll-X tires are only good in the dry?:( Do you have any experience on any other high volume tire such as the Kenda Klimax or the Intense cross country tires? I don't ride when it is really wet but Milaca can stay boggy to tacky for a long time. Tacky conditions are also the fastest at Elk River so I wouldn't want to be sliding around corners instead of hooking up. I'm excited to try a tubeless conversion. It's good to here from someone with first hand experience.
nigel7780=== Do you have a website for the eclipse system?
